Hi, Iβm Theresa Fountain, but most people know me as Sweetie Resie. My love for baking started when I was just 10 years old, armed with nothing more than an Easy-Bake Oven and an entrepreneurial spirit. I sold miniature cakes to neighborhood kids who couldnβt go outside while their parents were still at work. I even cut penny bubblegum into quarters and sold them for a penny each β my first taste of running a business.
In my early teens, my curiosity moved from sweets to savory. I would spend hours watching The Galloping Gourmet on TV and experimenting in the kitchen. That passion for cooking led me to all kinds of jobs β from group homes and hospitality to restaurants, Whole Foods, and catering gigs.
Then came the turning point: my younger sister Chef Alisa Reynolds opened a restaurant and asked me to be her pastry chef. At the time, the only βprofessionalβ baking I had done was with that Easy-Bake Oven. Her partner gave me three months, a stack of cookbooks, and a challenge. I taught myself everything β enough to not only step into the role, but to thrive in it.
Over the years, I baked my way into kitchens across Los Angeles, building my skills and creating my own style. The place that truly let me showcase my talent was My Two Cents LA, where I worked alongside my sister for 13 incredible years.
Today, I carry that same love for creating food that warms hearts, sparks conversation, and makes people feel at home β My Sweetness Is Your Weakness!
